Dark Lip Neutralization in Newport Beach
Correct the tone first, then add color.

What dark lip neutralization is
Some lips have naturally dark, purple, blue or brown undertones that standard lip blush can’t cover evenly. Neutralization uses carefully chosen corrective pigment to soften those undertones first, so the color that follows heals more even and true.
Correction is gradual. Many clients need more than one session before adding their final color, depending on how deep the original tone is. We’ll look at your lips and give you an honest plan at your consultation.
Who it’s for
- Dark, purple, blue or brown-toned lips
- Uneven lip color that lipstick never quite covers
- Anyone who has been told lip blush alone won’t work for their tone
The same precautions as lip blush apply: tell us about any history of cold sores, and we can’t work on an active cold sore, broken skin, or if you are pregnant or nursing. Keep retinoid skincare off the procedure area for at least two months beforehand. If you take prescription retinoids, please consult your doctor.
Before your appointment
Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning supplements for 24–48 hours before your session.
Healing and aftercare
Healing follows the same pattern as lip blush: vivid color and mild swelling at first, dry and flaky lips around days 3–5, a faded stage in week two, and settled color around weeks 6–8. Keep lips moisturized with the ointment provided and don’t pick at flakes.
Pricing
Dark lip neutralization is $649 per session. Touch-ups within 6 months are $199; how many sessions you need depends on your starting tone.
Results vary with skin type, lifestyle and aftercare. Your artist will talk you through what to expect for your skin.
